Hi, I'm Liane
I work across three gentle therapies that complement each other beautifully. Each one brings you out of fight or flight and into a place of safety, which is where real, lasting change happens. I believe we already have everything we need inside us to be our healthiest selves. Sometimes we just need a gentle reminder.

The short version of each therapy. Read more takes you to the full page.
Let the Mind Go Quiet.
A continuous, circular breath, lying down in a dimly lit room, to music.
Let the Body Do the Talking.
Gentle exercises, then you lie down and let your body shake off what it has been holding.
Gentle. Nothing Is Forced.
Light touch along the spine, face down and fully clothed.

Before we let go, the mind gets noisy. It fights to stay in control: heart rate up, thoughts racing, second guessing. Then comes the surrender, as the deep breathing switches on the calming side of your nervous system.
Breathing this way changes the balance of oxygen and carbon dioxide in your body. Tingly hands and feet, a light head, a fuzzy face. All normal, all part of it.
Your brain waves shift. You drop out of your mind and into your body, and you feel your way through. What has felt stuck for years often starts to move.
Without the need for words or stories, you meet the depths of who you really are. Then the music softens and we finish with a meditation. Most people leave lighter.

For everyone
A quarter to a third of the people in my sessions are men, and plenty of them came from the gym rather than the yoga studio. You cannot be ‘good’ at breathwork, or tremoring, and there is nothing to keep up with. You do not need to be fit, flexible or spiritual, and you do not have to talk about anything: this is nervous system regulation and emotional release through the body, a gentle alternative therapy for people who are done with thinking their way out of it. Come with an open mind and something comfortable to lie down in.
House music and drum and bass to begin, mellowing as the session goes on, and deeply relaxing by the end. Everything is explained on the day and you breathe at your own pace.

Nothing here is promised. It is what people tell me afterwards, again and again.
Who comes to Spinal Flow
People arrive with all of these, and more. Nothing is promised and nothing is forced; the body does the work.
The seven gateways
Each one is a place where physical, chemical and emotional stress can settle and block the flow. Tap a gateway, or use the arrow keys, and its vertebrae light up: the cranium, then the 24 vertebrae of the neck and back, then the sacrum and the coccyx.
Take one breath first
In for four, hold for four, out for six. The everyday reset.
If you are pregnant, or you have a heart or lung condition, epilepsy or a recent injury, check with your GP before any breathwork, and tell me when you book.
Mix and match
Most people start with one and end up with two. Pull the circles over each other to see what they do together, or let the button do it.
Drag any circle over another.
Nothing is promised. This is how the three tend to work together, in my own words.
What people say afterwards
“I just wanted to say thank you again for last night’s breathwork class. You made us feel so safe and protected, I have never ever experienced anything quite like it and cannot wait to be able to do another class with you. I don’t think my mind has ever felt like that, switched off from all the hideous life noise and stress/worry and so in tune with my very being. It was transcendent, incredibly healing and the most peaceful experience ever.”
“What an incredible, eye opening spiritual experience! I never knew I needed this in my life but it's really allowed me to release some trauma. I'm so glad I met Liane. She's a beautiful healing soul.”
“The session was amazing, I left with a lot of clarity in my heart and head! My husband would be keen to try it too. Thanks for creating such a safe space for people, you are amazing. That was the best gift I could give to myself.”
“An absolutely incredible experience, something I'll be continuing with. I've tried lots of different therapies & tried many different practices but this was hands down the most profound experience I've had.”
“Thanks so much for the session, I’m so glad I ignored my scepticism and fully committed. I found it an amazing experience, one that I’m still processing!! A rollercoaster of emotion that I wasn’t expecting to tap in to. For anyone thinking of giving it a go, especially you guys out there who wouldn’t dream of trying it, I urge you to go along, ignore your preconceived ideas and fully commit, you owe it to yourself and you will definitely feel all the better! Thanks again Liane.”
“I've been full of energy, incredibly calm, & way less stressed about life & work. It's like a big, black cloud has floated away. The other thing is that I'm normally a terrible sleeper but that has improved dramatically too.”
“I cannot thank you enough for today, it was such a powerful and amazing experience! Your energy carried through the entire experience and made it feel so wholesome and safe, thank you. I can’t wait to book again soon.”
“What an amazing experience to be a part of, I find it so hard to just cry but last night helped to release so much emotion and trauma. Thank you so much for that. I will highly recommend you to everyone. The best experience ever. Thank you xx”
“I loved your breath work session and will certainly recommend it. I think your professionalism is a wonder to behold!”
“I just want to say a huge thank you. It was an honour to meet you and to release emotions I've held onto for so long… Your compassion and your energy you bring to this is worth its weight in gold and I wanted to acknowledge the scale of it so thought I would share. I’m in therapy and do meditation and yoga but this has really benefited me in a way I never knew it could.”

Questions people ask
Straight answers, in my own words. If yours is not here, message me and I will answer it myself.
All three work with your nervous system, in different ways. Conscious connected breathwork uses a guided breathing pattern to release stress and emotion. Tremor therapy uses simple exercises to switch on your body's natural shaking response and release deep muscular tension. Spinal Flow is a very gentle, hands on technique that releases stored stress along the spine and nervous system. Not sure where to start? Get in touch and I will help you choose.
Not at all. Many of the people I see are brand new to this kind of work. You do not need any experience, flexibility, fitness or the right mindset. I guide you through everything, step by step, and you go at your own pace.
No. None of these approaches ask you to retell your story or relive anything. They work through the body and the nervous system, not through talking, so you can let go of stress without going into the details.
You might, and that is okay, but you do not have to. Some people cry, laugh, yawn, feel warm or feel very little at all. Every response is normal, and no reaction is better than another. You are always in control, and I am with you throughout.
For most people, yes, but some conditions need extra care or your doctor's go ahead first, especially for breathwork and tremor therapy. Please tell me about any health conditions, medication, pregnancy or recent surgery before your session. If I am not sure something is suitable, I will say so.
Both. One to one sessions are at The Brave Studio in Olney and are shaped around you. Group evenings run at venues around Milton Keynes, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, and many people find it easier to relax in a calm space shared with others. Group tickets are £35 for breathwork and £25 for tremor therapy, and every date is on the dates page.
It depends on you, your goals and how long you have been carrying stress or tension. Many people notice a shift after their first session, and most find that a few sessions close together help the changes last. Some come for a single session, some for a short course, and others for regular top up sessions. I will talk through what is realistic for you at your first appointment, and there is never any pressure to book more than you want.
One to one sessions are booked online through my booking page. Group tickets are bought for a specific date and venue on the dates page. Once you have booked, I will send you your preparation information and a consent form to read and sign before you come.
Conscious connected breathwork is a guided breathing technique in which you breathe in a continuous, connected rhythm, with no pause between the in breath and the out breath. My sessions take place in a dimly lit room, to music. It can help shift your nervous system out of stress, release built up emotion, and leave you feeling clearer and lighter.
You lie comfortably while I guide you through the breathing pattern. You may feel tingling, changes in temperature, heaviness or waves of emotion, or you may feel calm and floaty. These sensations are normal and temporary, and you can adjust your breathing whenever you need to.
For most healthy adults, yes. Breathwork is powerful, so I ask about your health beforehand. It is not suitable for everyone, including people who are pregnant or who have epilepsy or seizures, certain heart or blood pressure conditions, glaucoma, recent surgery or certain mental health conditions. If you are unsure, please ask me or your doctor first.
Tremor therapy is a simple series of exercises that helps your body release deep muscular tension and stress through natural shaking or trembling, known as neurogenic tremors. We move through the exercises together, then you lie down and let the tremor do its work.
For most people it is safe, and it is nothing like a seizure. Neurogenic tremors are gentle and rhythmic. You stay aware and in control throughout, and you can stop the shaking at any time simply by changing position, which I will show you in your session. It is not suitable for everyone, so I always check your health history first.
Yes, and that is one of the best things about it. Once I have taught you how to tremor safely, you can practise at home whenever you need to, so it is a tool you keep for life.
Spinal Flow is a very gentle, hands on technique created by Dr Carli Axford, a former chiropractor. It uses light, precise touch on specific access points to help release stress and blockages held in the spine and nervous system, so your body can return to a calmer, more balanced state.
Spinal Flow was created by a former chiropractor, but it is different: there is no cracking, popping, twisting or adjusting, and I am not a chiropractor. It works with flow rather than resistance or force. If you would like a very gentle approach to spinal and nervous system care, it may be a good fit. It is not a replacement for medical care. There is a fuller answer in Spinal Flow or a chiropractor?
Your first session lasts around seventy minutes and costs £70. At The Brave Studio in Olney I carry out a full posture and gateway assessment, go through your health history, and take posture photos to look back on later. Then we move into thirty minutes of Spinal Flow. Sessions after that are thirty minutes of Spinal Flow, at £45.
Nothing under that heading yet. Try another word, or message me and I will answer it myself.

For two and a half years I have run weekly breathwork sessions with two addiction recovery projects in Coventry. It is the work I am proudest of, and I would like to do more of it.

About Liane
Hi, I'm Liane (it's pronounced Lee ah na). I played volleyball for England and Great Britain for many years, indoor and beach, and it was through sport that I first understood what the breath could do. A lot of study later, I qualified as an Oxygen Advantage Advanced Instructor and a conscious connected breathwork facilitator.
Growing up I found it hard to understand my own emotions, let alone express them. Learning to listen to my body changed that. Each of the therapies I offer brings you out of fight or flight and into safety, which is where lasting change happens.
