Menopause Support for the Body That Will Not Settle.

I cannot change your hormones, but I can support your nervous system through the challenges and changes you may be facing.

Why the nervous system matters

Hormones Change the Chemistry; Stress Turns the Volume Up.

Perimenopause and menopause can leave the nervous system more sensitive to stress. Many women describe anxiety they never had before, a heart that races at three in the morning, a temper that arrives faster than it used to, and a body that feels wired and tired at the same time. Stress can make each of those feel worse, and that is the part the breath can support.

Slow breathing can help the body's stress response settle. Conscious connected breathwork is a more active practice that many people find leaves them feeling released and clear headed. Tremor therapy uses natural shaking to help the body release held tension. Spinal Flow Technique® uses gentle touch along the spine to help the nervous system settle.

Which session, and when

Sleep First, Because Everything Feels Easier With Rest.

If sleep is the problem, perhaps consider a breathwork session, either a group evening or a one to one. Many people tell me they sleep better afterwards. If anxiety and irritability are what you are feeling most, tremor therapy may give your body a gentle way to let go of some of the tension it is carrying. If aches, stiffness and a general sense of being run down are the problem, a course of Spinal Flow is gentle enough to have regularly.

Many women combine a course of Spinal Flow with a breathwork evening each month. I will tell you honestly which I think fits. Think of this as an extra layer of support that works alongside your GP or menopause specialist, never instead of their advice. Everyone responds differently, so I do not make promises about symptoms.

Small, honest things

A Room, a Mat, and Two Hours All for You.

My group evenings are quiet, dimly lit and unhurried. Nobody performs, nobody is watched, and the mix of ages and people in the room is wider than you might expect. Come with something comfortable to lie down in and a warm layer, because body temperature can drop as you relax. Just bring yourself.

Whenever you are ready

For the end of the day

Four In, Seven Held, Eight Out.

  1. 1Lights off, lying down.
  2. 2Press the button. As the glass fills, breathe in through your nose; hold while it holds; and breathe out slowly through your mouth as it empties.
  3. 3Four rounds, at your own pace.
Three rounds is plenty.

If you are pregnant, or you have a heart or lung condition, epilepsy or a recent injury, check with your GP before any breathwork, and tell me when you book.

Questions people ask

Questions People AskAbout This.

Straight answers, in my own words. If yours is not here, message me and I will answer it myself.

Can breathwork help with menopause symptoms?

Breathwork can help the body's stress response settle, and many women tell me their sleep, anxiety and mood feel better as their nervous system finds its balance. It does not change your hormones and it is not a treatment for menopause; it works alongside your GP or specialist.

Is Spinal Flow safe during perimenopause and menopause?

Yes. Spinal Flow is very gentle, light touch work that is suitable for most people at any age and stage. Tell me about any conditions (including osteoporosis) or medication when you book.

I have never done anything like this. Will I feel out of place?

No. The rooms are a real mix of ages and people, there is nothing to get right, and everything is explained before anyone lies down. If a group feels like too much to begin with, perhaps consider booking a one to one first.

Is it safe if I am taking medication or have a health condition?

For most people, yes, but some conditions need extra care or your doctor's go ahead first, especially for breathwork and tremor therapy. Please tell me about any health conditions, medication, pregnancy or recent surgery before your session. If I am not sure something is suitable, I will say so.

What might I feel after a session?

Many people feel lighter, settled and deeply relaxed. Some feel tired, thirsty, a little emotional or unusually sleepy for a day or so, which is common and usually passes. Drink plenty of water and be gentle with yourself afterwards. If anything worries you, get in touch.

Not Sure Which? Ask Me.

A short message is enough. I answer everything myself, usually the same day, and I will tell you honestly which session fits.
