Back and Neck Pain: a Gentler Way to Work With the Spine.
If you would like a softer approach than you have been used to and a gentler way to look after your back and neck, Spinal Flow Technique® works along the spine with light contact. Nothing cracked and the whole nervous system in mind.

Why gentle
The Spine Is Part of a Bigger Picture.
Back pain has a lot of causes, and it is rarely just one thing. The spine protects the spinal cord, the main pathway of the nervous system, and it works alongside the muscles that hold the day's stress and a posture that adapts to how we live. Spinal Flow takes the whole of that as the starting point.
I look for where the spine is holding tension, to identify blockages along one or more of the seven gateways, and make light contact at the access points that help the body release. Nothing is forced. People who are wary of being cracked or who are simply tired of strong treatment tend to relax the moment they understand that.
I am not a chiropractor, osteopath or physiotherapist, and Spinal Flow is not a diagnosis or a medical treatment. New, severe or worsening back pain, pain with numbness or weakness, or pain after an accident needs your GP first. Loss of bladder or bowel control needs urgent medical attention.
Neck, back, hips and the rest
Where People Come From, and Where They Notice It.
People come with a lower back that goes every few months, with a neck and shoulders that hold the office, with hips that ache by the afternoon, with headaches that seem to start in the neck, and with the kind of stiffness that sleep does not undo. They also come with digestive trouble and tiredness.
Nerves branch out from the spinal cord to every part of the body, which is why the spine matters so much. In Spinal Flow, we work with the idea that stress can be held along the spine, and we use light touch to help the body let go of it. Rather than focusing only on where it hurts, we look at the whole picture.
Most effective is a course of regular sessions: a consultation with posture photos first, then regular thirty minute sessions, with the photos taken again at session twelve so you can see the changes rather than take anyone's word for it.

The breath and the tremor too
Tension You Can Feel in Your Back Often Lives Somewhere Else.
A back that will not let go is often a body that is braced. Tremor therapy uses natural shaking to help the muscles around the hips, back, and lower body to let go of tension, and breathwork can help the body come out of fight or flight. Spinal Flow is a beautiful, gentle option to release blockages, restore balance to your central nervous system, and allow the body to find its flow. I will gladly guide you in the right direction if you are not sure which would be most effective for you, and plenty of people find the three work well together.
Sixty seconds
Unwind Your Back Before You Read On.
Four small steps, fifteen seconds each. Sit back, press start and follow the spine.
- 1Sit back and let the chair take your weight.
- 2Drop your shoulders away from your ears.
- 3Soften your jaw and let your tongue rest.
- 4Breathe out slowly, longer than you breathe in.
Questions people ask
Questions People AskAbout This.
Straight answers, in my own words. If yours is not here, message me and I will answer it myself.
Is Spinal Flow a treatment for back pain?
Spinal Flow is gentle, hands on work with the spine and nervous system, and people come with back, neck and hip pain among many other things. It is not a medical treatment or a diagnosis, nothing is promised, and new or severe pain needs your GP first.
Does Spinal Flow involve cracking?
No. Nothing is cracked, clicked or manipulated. I make light contact at access points along the spine while you lie face down, fully clothed.
How soon will I notice a difference?
Some people notice ease after the first session, some after a few. Spinal Flow works little and often, which is why most people book a package of six or twelve, with posture photos at the start and again at session twelve.
Can tremoring help with back pain, neck pain and tight hips?
Many people find it releases tension in the muscles around the hips, back and neck, and notice their body feels looser and lighter afterwards. If you have persistent or severe pain, please see your doctor as well.
I am looking for a gentle chiropractor. Is Spinal Flow similar?
Spinal Flow was created by a former chiropractor, but it is different: there is no cracking, popping, twisting or adjusting, and I am not a chiropractor. It works with flow rather than resistance or force. If you would like a very gentle approach to spinal and nervous system care, it may be a good fit. It is not a replacement for medical care. There is a fuller answer in Spinal Flow or a chiropractor?
Not Sure Which? Ask Me.
A short message is enough. I answer everything myself, usually the same day, and I will tell you honestly which session fits.
